Marketing Coordinator (Detroit)

Taft is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support our team in Taft’s Southfield office.
Reports to: Business Development Director
Position Objective:
The marketing coordinator will provide assistance with marketing and business development activities in various Taft markets and support other firm-wide activities. The position offers an excellent opportunity to learn many facets of legal marketing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the director/team with pitch and RFP completion including gathering information, updating documents, and proofreading content. (Southfield)
- Supports the director with marketing material creation including gathering information for one-sheeters and brochures. (Cleveland)
- Assists the directors with completing budget related activities in a timely manner including invoice follow-up and processing, credit card receipt submission and reconciliation of statements, reimbursement request submissions, and updating/tracking items. (Chicago, Cleveland, and Indianapolis)
- Assists the director/team with (1) sponsorship support including processing invoices, providing marketing materials/visual assets, and maintaining a timeline of upcoming events and (2) sponsorship fulfillment including the registration process, ad submissions, and table attendees. (Southfield)
- Manages events including, but not limited to, logistics, catering, and on-site event needs, building/coordinating invitation lists, and managing RSVPs. (Southfield)
- Reviews and posts content on the website. (Southfield)
- Assists director with internal meeting scheduling and related needs. (Chicago)
- Assists team members with email/subscription list clean-up and updates. (Southfield and Indianapolis)
- Assists with other requests as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or related field.
- Recent college graduate with intern experience or two-to-three years of professional services experience (preferred).
- Excellent computer skills – high proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with a CRM system (preferred).
- Experience proofreading content and knowledge of AP style (preferred).
- Strong understanding of web-based platforms, such as a content management system.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels.
- Superior communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to work.
Work may require more than 37.5 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours. The position is located in the Southfield, Michigan office. Support of other offices does not require travel.
